Kingsport City Schools held a back to school event at the Kingsport Town Center featuring performances from the band, JROTC, cheerleaders and more. I attended the event to find out more and spoke with a Dobyns-Bennett student to find out the importance of the event.
Students in Kingsport will be heading back to school next week, and Kinsport City Schools held its 7th annual Back to School Expo at the Kingsport Town Center on Tuesday.
Festivities began at 3 p.m. with performances from the Dobyns-Bennett band, Junior ROTC, and cheerleaders.
"I was always here every year,” Band Drum Major Chandler Woods said. “I saw the band every year. It's one of the reasons I wanted to do band, seeing them everywhere and getting real excited about them."
Information is available about school like the calendar, supply lists and extracurricular activities. There are 75 booths at the event from a wide variety of groups and activities.
