Trashbuster Volunteers Needed for Fun Fest

For this story I headed over to Kingsport to talk to Robin Cleary, the director of Keep Kingsport Beautiful to learn more about their need for volunteers during Fun Fest. I also go to see some of the freebies they would be giving volunteers, such as a t-shirt.

Keep Kingsport Beautiful is looking for volunteers to be Trashbusters at Fun Fest, which kicks off Friday. You may even get free stuff for giving your time.

The Trashbusters will help keep festival events litter free and encourage recycling. Volunteers will work in one to two hour shifts. You're welcome to sign up even if you can only help with one event.

“There’s a really nice perk,” Robin Cleary, who is organizing the event, said. "You sign up for the concert of your choice, and we ask that you work one other event. You get free admission to that concert. All of our volunteers get a free Fun Fest t-shirt."

Tickets for those concerts are still available for $15 on Thursday and Friday night and $20 for Saturday night. Prices go up $5 this Friday.

You can purchase tickets or sign up to be a Trashbuster at the Kingsport Chamber of Commerce.
