or continue below.The investigation into a Greene County shooting is ongoing.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Department responded to a home on Asheville Highway around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Barbara Shelton Waites, 31, of Greeneville was found slumped over a couch with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head. A gun was lying next to her, and a shell case was found on the front porch of the home.
The body was sent for an autopsy.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is handling the case.
