It was the opening night of the "Liberty!" outdoor drama at Sycamore Shoals State Historic Park in Elizabethton. Discounted tickets were available for the first night. I spoke with the park manager to learn more.
Discounts are available for the opening night of Tennessee's official outdoor drama.
The 38th season of “Liberty!” at Sycamore Shoals State Park began Thursday night in Elizabethton.
The performance is a presentation of the early history of our area.
For the first night only, tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and $8 for children during the rest of the season.
"This is an event for the whole family,” Park Manager Jennifer Bauer said. “There's a lot of excitement, a lot of action, and our young people really, really enjoy the stories. They're stories of such importance that they need to be passed on."
Tickets go on sale at 6. The show begins at 7:30.
There will be performances every Thursday, Friday and Saturday in July.
