Every year at Fun Fest, they have a special event for kids to play in all kids of water fun. I was there as they turned on the water on the fire engine and the crowd of kids got to play. I also interviewed one of the kids about how much fun she was having.
Kids had the opportunity to cool off and have some fun in the sun Wednesday. The annual Splash Dance event was held in front of Andrew Johnson Elementary School in Kingsport.
"I'm going to blow bubbles,” 9-year-old Elizabeth Hensley said. “Then, I'm going to catch some beach balls, if I can. It's going to be so fun!"
A huge crowd gathered for a slip slide and water guns.
The highlight of the day was the fire engine provided by the Kingsport Fire Department. It sprayed water down the street for kids to play in.
Organizers brought 750 beach balls to the event.
The Splash Dance happens each year during Fun Fest. Organizers say they have just as much fun as the kids.
