Retired Teachers Inducted into Hall of Fame

Kingsport city schools held its second ever hall of fame induction. I attended the event to see the retired teachers be recognized for their service. Lib Dudney came up to my videographer and me to talk about it. She was a lot of fun.

Four retired teachers were inducted into the Kingsport City Schools Hall of Fame Tuesday. It was the second group to ever be inducted.

Margaret Bays, Bill Hull, Cecil Puckett and Lib Dudney were recognized for their service to the school system.

"This makes me feel very grateful, very humble, but proud of the Kingsport City Schools,” Dudney said. “They're giving a message this week that yeah teachers you're retired, you're gone, but you're not forgotten."

Each former teacher received a standing ovation from the crowd when their award was presented. They each spoke to the crowd and gave a few words of advice for future teachers.

Hall of fame inductees are chosen based upon nominations sent by letter to the school system.
