For this story, I had the honor of interviewing Josh Wandell. He was a former elementary school principal in Elizabethton who had become a community icon by showing positivity through his battle with ALS, a terminal disease that causes a slow paralysis. Yard signs asking for prayer were posted all around town at many homes and businesses. I attended the fifth annual race held in his honor to talk with his supporters. Since he had to talk by typing with eye tracking technology, I sent a list of questions by email and went to his house a few days later.
