I wrote two reports on Milligan's Student Government Association elections. The first report was a preview before the election to let people know that it was coming up, and the second below told about the results. It was the first year that campaigning and voting were both completed online.

Representatives and leaders in Milligan’s Student Government Association were elected Thursday.
All candidates ran unopposed except for those in the junior class president race, said Kacie Mullins, current SGA president. In that race, Sam Bratton won over Gabe Logan.
“I’m glad to have the support,” Bratton said. “It’s good to know people have a lot of confidence in me. I was scared going into the election because my opponent had a lot of support, and I know he would have done great things.”
Other candidates elected include Daniela Cortes for president, Keila Trevino for secretary and Somang Lee for treasurer. Sophomore class president will be Jon Guy.
Representatives will be Noah Hickerson, Matthew Albritton, Praise Gichuru and Caroline Bivins for the junior class and Eric Meadows and Ben Moffatt for the sophomore class.
Class president positions not filled during the election will be appointed by the SGA president. Open representative positions will be chosen by the respective class president. The SGA vice president and parliamentarian positions are also open.
Two of SGA’s goals this upcoming year are to “clearly communicate how SGA works and fill all positions,” Bratton said.
Some problems occurred with the ballot system used in the election. Unlike previous years, Qualtrics, a new survey program, was used. Two ballots were sent out to each person, one for the SGA executive positions and one for class level positions. Some students did not receive the proper ballot for their class due to a difference between their class level by credits and their class level by years at Milligan.
Jason Onks, director of campus activities, organized the election. He corrected the issue with another ballot sent out later in the day.
