For this report, I went with a videographer to the Healing Hands Health Center where they had moved into a new building one year prior. They were looking to help new low income patients in the expanded facility.
A Bristol-based health organization is accepting new patients after expanding to a new building last year.
Healing Hands Health Center offers low cost medical care for eligible patients who are without insurance.
They have now added a new physician, nurse practitioner and six exam rooms.
“It means so much to us to have expanded, to have gotten more help,” Helen Scott, executive director of Healing Hands, said. “Because we want to help people in need, and that’s the reason we’re here.”
They expect to serve about 7,000 patients this year. Medical visits cost only $25.
"We are so proud to be able to offer more services. Serving northeast Tennessee and southwest Virginia really is a dream come true for us, because we started out serving just the small Bristol community,” Scott said.
New patients are welcome to apply with Healing Hands in person or online.
